Musanze, Rwanda The Bike for Future team of LWD, funded by Plan Rwanda, entered the 3rd stage of the Youth Racing Cup 2025 with high expectations. Having dominated the previous stages, the team was confident in their ability to continue their winning streak. However, the day became a testament to the girls’ proven ability and strength in cycling, showcasing their talent even in the face of challenges.

The spotlight was on Amina, the team’s star cyclist, who had been a consistent leader in the previous races. As the competition intensified on the rugged terrain of Musanze, Amina faced an unfortunate accident that forced her to drop from the leading position. Against all odds, they secured podium finishes in the stage, proving the team’s depth and commitment to excellence. More importantly, their efforts reinforced the belief that the team is far from being defeated.

Amina, though shaken, refused to let this be the story that defines her season. With a determined look, she vowed to come back stronger in the next stage. “This is just one chapter. The next time, we will be the ones making a positive story,” she said, embodying the true spirit of perseverance.

Speaking after the race, the team’s coach expressed both concern for Amina’s recovery and immense pride in the younger riders. “It was a tough day for us, but I’m proud of how our team handled adversity. Amina is a fighter, and she will bounce back stronger. Seeing our young riders rise to the challenge is a testament to the strength of our program.”

As the competition progresses, the Bike for Future team remains hopeful and determined to reclaim their dominance in the upcoming stages. With unwavering support from LWD and Plan Rwanda, the team continues to inspire young cyclists and promote the spirit of resilience in Rwandan cycling.
