No. Learn Work Develop (LWD) is a nongovernmental organization created on November 5th, 2013 and operating in Rwanda, East-Central Africa.
Learn Work Develop (LWD) promotes effective work and sustainable employment among the youths and women, fighting against the barriers to the effective work including ignorance, social injustice, early marriage, teenage pregnancies, climate change, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
Yes. Learn Work Develop (LWD) operates a bicycle and TVET center to provide TVET skills to young people, most especially to young girls in purpose of prevention and response to teenage pregnancies as well as juvenile delinquency.
Initially, the beneficiaries were in 4 categories (teenage girls at high risk to get pregnant, teenage pregnant girls, teen mothers and their children). Actually, the program targets all the youths with compounded vulnerabilities including seen in the following categories:
- Youths with disabilities
- Teen mothers & their children
- Youths geographically isolated
- Youths sex workers (males and females)
- Youths living with HIV
it is a home grown solution that aims to engage the youth structures to protect and advocate for the handling of issues and other problems of the Youths with compounded vulnerabilities. These structures support the fellow youths especially the young girls in SRHR, livelihoods, anti-SGBV and child protection
