- Yesterday was a powerful and emotional day for the cycling community in Rwanda. The LWD Cycling Team proudly took part in the “Race to Remember”, an event filled with reflection, unity, and hope for a better future. The day began at the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Kicukiro, where cyclists and supporters gathered for a solemn ceremony. Together, they laid flowers to honor former cyclists who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, as well as all victims who lost their lives simply because of who they were. - On April 18th, 2025, the Amahoro Stadium parking was once again alive with energy as young talents from across the country came together for the 4th stage of the Youth Racing Cup. Among the standout performers were the determined and powerful girls of the LWD Cycling Team, who raced their hearts out and brought home impressive results. Gwiza, competing in the U13 Benjamins category, secured 3rd place with a strong finish time of 18 minutes and 28.68 seconds. - On April 11, 2025, LWD had the honor of hosting a delegation from Manchester University, recommended by Rwamagana District, for a courtesy visit to the LWD TVET Center in Rwamagana. The visit aimed to share experiences around youth and women empowerment and to showcase the impact of the Masengembahafi program. During the exchange, our Executive Director, Jean Claude Mwiseneza, warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the critical role of partnerships in supporting vulnerable youth and women.
