On Monday, February 24, 2025, the LWD Cycling Team joined RideRwanda at a special side event during the prestigious Tour du Rwanda 2025. This platform provided young cyclists, particularly girls, with the opportunity to showcase their talent and prove that they, too, belong in the world of competitive cycling.

As part of the initiative to promote gender inclusivity in cycling, the young riders embarked on an inspiring journey that began in Nyagatare, passed through Gatsibo, and concluded in Kayonza District. The event was not just about the race but also about breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of female cyclists.
The collaboration between LWD Cycling Team and Ride Rwanda highlighted the potential of young girls in cycling, challenging existing norms and encouraging more female participation in the sport. Their participation in Tour du Rwanda 2025 sent a strong message that talent and determination know no gender.

This initiative marks a significant step in the right direction, reinforcing the idea that with the right support and opportunities, young female cyclists can thrive at both national and international levels. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by the riders have set the stage for future breakthroughs in women’s cycling in Rwanda and beyond.
